Telecom Cos. Can't Dodge Collusion Suit Over 4G Standards

Law360, New York (August 21, 2012, 7:52 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge on Tuesday refused to dismiss a suit alleging that Qualcomm Inc., LM Ericsson Telephone Co. and Alcatel-Lucent SA violated antitrust laws by conspiring to block TruePosition Inc.'s mobile tracking technology from adoption into global wireless standards.

U.S. District Judge Robert F. Kelly found that TruePosition's failure to allege direct evidence of a purported anti-competitive agreement between the telecommunications companies did not warrant dismissal because TruePosition had made sufficient allegations based on circumstantial evidence of parallel conduct to keep the suit alive....
