Strip Club Chain Settles Spam Text Suit For $2M In Coupons

Law360, New York (August 22, 2012, 6:29 PM EDT) -- A Florida district judge on Wednesday granted final approval of a $2 million coupon settlement between strip club chain Rick's Cabaret International Inc. and a class of consumers who have accused the company of spamming them with unwanted text messages.

U.S. District Judge Robert N. Scola Jr. signed off on the settlement, which sets aside up to $1.87 million for Rick's Cabaret consumers in the form of fully transferable gift certificates which can be used at any of the 23 Rick's Cabaret locations for “non-performance purchases,”...
