Nokia To Contest $252M InterDigital Patent Ruling

Law360, New York (July 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Finnish mobile handset maker Nokia plans to contest a $252 million patent dispute arbitration ruling that went in wireless technology vendor InterDigital's favor, InterDigital said in a regulatory filing.

“InterDigital believes Nokia's planned actions are without merit and intends to continue to vigorously pursue enforcement of the award,” the company said in the filing.

Nokia had asked the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce to determine that it has no royalty obligations to the InterDigital unit based on the Ericsson and Sony...
