Weil Gotshal Helps IAC Nail Down $300M About.com Buy

Law360, New York (August 27, 2012, 3:49 PM EDT) -- The New York Times Co. has found a buyer for its multisubject reference website About.com in IAC/InterActiveCorp, which said Sunday it had agreed to scoop up the site and a smattering of others for $300 million.

Confirmation of the all-cash deal comes about a week after rumors began swirling that IAC, led by media magnate Barry Diller, had emerged as the favored bidder for the collection of About Group sites, which also includes ConsumerSearch.com and CalorieCount.com.
