Adelphia Head Takes Sentence To High Court

Law360 (October 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The founder of Adelphia Communications Corp. and his son have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn multiple convictions for an accounting fraud scandal that engulfed the bankrupt cable company and may yet lead to years behind bars for both men.

Following an appellate ruling in May upholding 17 of a district court's 18 convictions, John and Timothy Rigas appealed the decision to the Supreme Court Wednesday, according to a source in the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York....
