Sprint Says Comcast Xfinity Services Infringe Patents

Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 7:50 PM EDT) -- A Sprint Nextel Corp. unit on Tuesday lodged patent infringement allegations in Delaware federal court against two Comcast Corp. units, saying the cable company's Xfinity services made use of protected intellectual property.

In the complaint, which marks the latest development in a running patent battle between the two companies, Sprint Communications LP alleges that Comcast Cable Communications LLC and Comcast IP Phone LLC infringe six patents covering optical network and other communications technologies.
