Ex-Bandleader Claims Race Bias By Glenn Miller Orchestra

Law360, New York (August 31, 2012, 5:50 PM EDT) -- A former leader of the storied Glenn Miller Orchestra sued the orchestra production company Thursday in New York, claiming he was fired despite being on contract after he hired black and Hispanic staff and disrupted the band's “white bread” look.

Gary S. Tole, who took a job leading the orchestra in January 2011, alleges management forced him out in December after he brought on two black musicians and a Latino road manager.
