Dish Faults Fox For 'Fearmongering' In Hopper Injunction Bid

Inc.'s claims that Dish Network Corp.'s ad-skipping digital video recording technology will destroy the television industry are baseless "fearmongering" tactics unsupported by evidence, Dish said Thursday in an effort to quell the network's injunction bid in its copyright case.

In its opposition to Fox's motion for a preliminary injunction, Dish told the California federal court that the broadcaster had failed to come up with any factual basis that Dish's commercial-free PrimeTime Anytime and AutoHop features would unsettle the television industry's life-giving advertising model,...
