Time Warner Skirts Nexstar's Rebroadcasting Injunction Bid

Law360, New York (September 6, 2012, 7:38 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Wednesday shot down Nexstar Broadcasting Inc.'s bid for an injunction against Time Warner Cable Inc., finding it was unlikely that Time Warner infringed Nexstar's copyrights and breached a contract by retransmitting broadcast signals to distant markets without permission.

U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis denied Nexstar's motion for a preliminary injunction, saying that an agreement struck between the companies, which allows Time Warner to rebroadcast three television stations owned by Nexstar, did not contain language limiting the geographic scope of Time...
