Ex-Madoff Controller To Plead Guilty, Prosecutors Say

Law360, New York (September 12, 2012, 2:47 PM EDT) -- The former controller of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC will plead guilty in New York federal court Thursday to charges he falsified records as part of the infamous multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Irwin Lipkin will plead guilty to one count each of conspiracy and falsifying statements at a court hearing Thursday, the government said in a letter to U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain. The charges carry a total maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, prosecutors said.
