Past Metal-Hip Fights May Haunt Biomet's Bid To Avoid MDL

Law360, New York (September 17, 2012, 9:44 PM EDT) -- Biomet Inc. will argue to a federal judicial panel Thursday that its metal-on-metal hip implants are too varied to combine personal injury suits over the devices into multidistrict litigation, but attorneys say the existence of four other MDLs for metal implants will make it difficult for the company to prevent consolidation.
