Cell Phone Makers Rung Up Over Wireless Patents

Law360 (October 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas-based licensing company has hit cell phone makers, including Nokia Corp., LG Electronics Inc. and Research In Motion Ltd., and video game maker Nintendo Co. Ltd. with an infringement lawsuit over wireless patents.

Saxon Innovations LLC filed the suit on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing eight companies and their respective U.S. subsidiaries of violating four patents that cover private wireless communications and other computer chip functions.
