Simpson Thacher Guides Blackstone's $2B Home Security Buy

Law360, New York (September 19, 2012, 1:12 PM EDT) -- New York-based Blackstone Group LP will pay more than $2 billion for Vivint Inc., one of the country’s biggest providers of home security systems and an up-and-comer in rooftop solar, Blackstone said Tuesday, in what amounts to a big bet that the U.S. housing market has nowhere to go but up.
