Akzo Fights EU Confidentiality Ruling In Bleach Cartel Case

Law360, New York (October 2, 2012, 6:25 PM EDT) -- Akzo Nobel NV has accused the European Commission of violating the confidentiality of its leniency filings with an extended public version of a 2006 bleach cartel case decision, saying in an appeal notice Saturday that the move violated its legitimate expectations of privacy.

The Dutch chemical company appealed a commission ruling rejecting its request for confidential treatment of certain information in the watchdog's hydrogen peroxide case, according to a notice of appeal published Saturday.
