Texas Awards $1B Contract For Houston Beltway Expansion

Law360, Houston (October 1, 2012, 8:33 PM EDT) -- The Texas Transportation Commission on Thursday approved the selection of Zachry Construction Corp. and the Odebrecht Organization to develop a $1 billion expansion of an ongoing state highway project that, upon completion, will be the longest beltway in the U.S.

Joint venture Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders will design, develop and construct the next phase of the 184-mile outer beltway known as the Grand Parkway, which will traverse seven counties and encircle the city of Houston.
