Wyndham Called Out Over Recorded Telephone Conversations

Law360, New York (October 2, 2012, 12:37 PM EDT) -- A California woman claims that Wyndham International Inc. illegally recorded phone calls to a toll-free hotel reservation number without informing callers of the practice, according to a putative class action removed to California federal court on Monday.

Joyce Roberts, who says she called the reservation number within the last year to inquire about room rates, accuses the upscale hotel chain of violating state privacy law by enacting a policy of recording, intercepting or eavesdropping on calls and not providing proper notification of the practice.
