DirecTV Hit With Class Action Over Billing Practices

Law360, Chicago (October 2, 2012, 5:11 PM EDT) -- DirecTV LLC was hit with a putative class action Monday in Illinois accusing it of violating the state's consumer fraud law by using the credit card information of noncustomers without their permission.

Plaintiff Trenadet Jones alleges in her state court complaint that she was charged repeatedly by DirecTV after agreeing to pay her mother's bill on one occasion, and that after her credit card company gave her a credit for the charges, she received yet another charge from the satellite service provider.
