Online Poker Payment Processor Gets 5 Months In Jail

Law360, New York (October 3, 2012, 6:50 PM EDT) -- A payment processor for a trio of poker websites was sentenced to five months of jail time Wednesday for defying a U.S. ban on handling money for online gaming.

Chad Elie, 32, who pled guilty to a single conspiracy count in March, was also ordered to serve two years of probation and to forfeit $500,000 during a hearing in New York before U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan.
