Google, Slide Agree To $6M Accord In Spam Text Class Action

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. and Slide Inc. on Friday asked a federal judge to approve a $6 million settlement with a class of consumers who alleged the companies’ group texting service illegally spammed them.

Plaintiffs Nicole Pimental and Jessica Franklin alleged they received several unauthorized text messages sent by or through Slide’s “Disco” group text messaging service in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
