Air Force Base Engineer Admits To Taking Bribes

Law360, Los Angeles (October 12, 2012, 8:24 PM EDT) -- A federal civil engineer pled guilty Friday to defrauding the U.S. government and conspiring to disclose sensitive information in a bribery scheme for road and roofing maintenance contracts at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.

The guilty plea by former air base civil engineer and supervisor John T. Gilmore III comes just days after his subordinate and two contractors pled guilty to taking part in the scheme, according to U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldana. Prosecutors say the defendants...
