$10 Million Jury Verdict Reversed in Copyright-Related Breach of Contract Case

Law360 (August 14, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Popular Christian cartoon maker Big Idea Productions Inc. prevailed in federal appeals court over a copyright-related breach of contract, winning back a $10 million jury verdict that had forced it into bankruptcy.

The ruling hinged on interpretation of language in the Copyright Act of 1978, regarding documentation of copyright transfers and how exactly it should be represented in writing.
