Marine Corps Challenging WWE 'Homefront' Trademark

Law360, New York (October 31, 2012, 3:04 PM EDT) -- World Wresting Entertainment Inc.'s efforts to trademark movie title “Marine: Homefront” for an array of uses including clothing, ring tones and mouse pads are being challenged by the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Marine Corps, which filed a prepublication letter of protest with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, has until Dec. 12 to lodge its opposition to the mark, after being granted a 90-day extension Sept. 4.
