Chicago Tries To Douse Female Firefighters' Bias Suit

Law360, New York (November 2, 2012, 1:41 PM EDT) -- The city of Chicago on Thursday asked an Illinois federal judge to toss female firefighter applicants’ claim that a physical abilities test the city administers discriminated against women, saying there wasn’t enough evidence to support the allegation.

The city lodged a motion to dismiss a claim by a proposed class of would-be female firefighters that the city’s physical abilities test, or PAT, had a disparate treatment or discriminatory impact on female applicants.
