Dockworkers Union Gets RICO Mob Suit Thrown Out

Law360, New York (November 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has tossed a government racketeering suit that implicated a dockworkers' union, its pension fund and its executives in the alleged New York waterfront operations of Mafia crime syndicate La Cosa Nostra, saying the suit failed to plead any conspiracy among the defendants.

The long-runnning suit targeted heads of AFL-CIO member the International Longshoremen's Association's executive council for allegedly conspired with major players in the Genovese and Gambino families.
