Fox Loses Bid To Ban Dish Network's Ad-Skipping DVR

Law360, New York (November 8, 2012, 1:26 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday rejected Fox Broadcasting Co.'s request that she temporarily shut down Dish Network Corp.'s ad-skipping digital video recording service while Fox tries to prove that the technology violates copyright law.

U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee denied Fox a preliminary injunction that would have barred Dish from offering consumers its PrimeTime Anytime and AutoHop services while Fox and the three other major networks battle the new service in federal court.
