Quest Accused Of Flouting ERISA On Severance Packages

Law360, New York (December 3, 2012, 3:31 PM EST) -- A former Quest Diagnostics Inc. employee hit the medical testing company with a proposed class action in New Jersey federal court Friday claiming it systematically denied employees severance benefits in violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

Denver resident and lead plaintiff Zoe Mance brought suit alleging Quest arbitrarily denied more than a dozen eligible employees their benefits under the company’s voluntary separation agreement plan, which had been in place since 2003.
