Senate Passes $631B Defense Bill With Contractor Pay Cap

Law360, New York (December 4, 2012, 8:57 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate passed the $631 billion National Defense Authorization Act by a vote of 98-0 on Tuesday, which included amendments that would lower caps on contractor executive pay and increase oversight of wartime contracts.

The bill still must be reconciled with the House's NDAA, which includes about $3 billion in additional spending and conflicts with the Senate's stance on military biofuel investments and wartime contracting reforms, among other differences, before it is sent to President Barack Obama for his signature.
