Governors Island Seeks Proposals For Massive Redevelopment

Law360, New York (December 11, 2012, 1:42 PM EST) -- The Trust for Governors Island, the nonprofit responsible for operating the New York City island, issued a request for proposals Monday for the redevelopment of 40 historic buildings covering more than 1 million square feet on the island.

It's the largest opportunity in the country for the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and is another step in the long-term redevelopment plan for Governors Island, according to the Trust.
