DOJ, NY AG Sue To Unwind NYC Tour Bus Monopoly

Law360, New York (December 11, 2012, 5:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice sued two New York City bus operators Tuesday to unwind a joint venture giving the duo a monopoly over the city's hop-on, hop-off tour bus market that allowed the companies to hike prices.

The DOJ joined with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to lodge an antitrust suit against Coach USA Inc. and City Sights LLC, accusing the companies of forming an illegal joint venture commanding nearly all of the $100 million market in order to raise tour bus prices....
