Calif. Court Brings Architects Back Into Condo Defect Case

Law360, New York (December 14, 2012, 10:02 PM EST) -- A California appeals court on Thursday ruled two architectural firms would have to face professional negligence claims from a San Francisco condominium association over alleged design flaws condo residents say have led to safety hazards.

The state Court of Appeal reversed a trial court's ruling that had dismissed the Beacon Residential Community Association's claims against Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP and HKS Inc., two firms that had provided architectural, engineering and construction administration services to the Beacon Residential condominium project.
