NJ Lawmakers Tell Christie To Legalize Online Betting

Law360, New York (January 2, 2013, 1:23 PM EST) -- Four New Jersey state senators have urged Gov. Chris Christie to sign legislation allowing people across the state to place online bets on Atlantic City casino games, saying the measure would boost the state's economy.

In a Dec. 27 letter, Sens. Steve Sweeney, Raymond J. Lesniak, Jim Whelan and Jeff Van Drew pressed Christie to sign the Internet gaming measure into law, saying that New Jersey cannot afford to miss the opportunity to lead the gaming industry and embrace new technology in the 21st century....
