Dunkin' Donuts Can't Evade Franchisees' Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (January 4, 2013, 5:30 PM EST) -- Dunkin' Donuts Franchised Restaurants LLC must face a proposed class action accusing the retailer of racially steering its minority franchisees after a New Jersey federal judge squashed the chain's bid to toss the suit.

Dunkin' Donuts had argued the suit was barred by a statute of limitations, but Superior Court Judge Mathias Rodriguez on Dec. 21 found otherwise, denying its motion to dismiss and ordering 120 days of discovery.
