Austin Council Rejects $90M Boutique Hotel Near Capitol

Law360, New York (January 31, 2013, 10:10 PM EST) -- Bowing to cries from preservationists and office building management competitors, the Austin City Council has killed a proposed $90 million boutique hotel in order to preserve views of the Texas Capitol.

In a unanimous vote, the City Council refused several zoning variances requested by the developer.
