Motorola, Cable Makers Lash Out At Rembrandt

Law360, New York (November 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Motorola Inc. and six other cable equipment manufacturers have launched an attack on Rembrandt Technologies LP after the patent-holding company sued their customers over digital television and high-speed Internet patents.

The equipment makers filed a declaratory judgment suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Nov. 21, in response to Rembrandt’s accusations that they were infringing eight of its patents in an ongoing multidistrict litigation case against cable multiple system operators, including Cablevision Systems Corp.
