Insurers Lose Bid To Dodge Sabre Antitrust Claims In Texas

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 2:35 PM EST) -- A Texas federal judge said Thursday two insurers can't continue their effort to deny online travel company Sabre Inc. coverage in litigation with American Airlines Inc. over Sabre's alleged monopoly because a New York state court case takes precedence.

In an order granting Sabre's motion to dismiss the Texas suit, U.S. District Judge John McBryde said Insurance Co. of the State of Pennsylvania and Chartis Specialty Insurance Co. were barred from bringing it under the federal Anti-Injunction Act, which says a federal court may not grant...
