Glaser Weil Faces $27.5M Malpractice Suit Over Calif. Lease

Law360, New York (January 23, 2013, 5:10 PM EST) -- Owners of popular San Diego tourist spot Seaport Village sued Glaser Weil Fink Jacobs Howard Avchen & Shapiro LLP in California state court Tuesday, accusing the firm of intentionally bungling legal action intended to wrest ownership from a Seaport stakeholder and costing the owners $27.5 million.

Seaport Village Ltd.'s lawsuit accuses Glaser Weil and two of its partners, Barry Fink and Amman Khan, of failing to secure agreements following a legal battle with mortgage broker Michael Cohen, an adviser to the plaintiff who took a 25 percent interest in Seaport Village, breaching his fiduciary duties to his client.
