Pa. Judge Rebuffs Sandusky's Bid For New Trial

Law360, Philadelphia (January 30, 2013, 3:19 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania judge Wednesday denied former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky’s efforts to toss his conviction for childhood sexual abuse, determining that even if Sandusky’s attorney had more time to review documents, it would not have affected his defense.

Sandusky — who was convicted of 45 counts of child molestation in June and sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison during October — had contended he was denied due process when he was denied two motions for a continuance in May. Sandusky’s...
