Fellow Giants Assist Microsoft In Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (November 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Visa Inc. and Weyerhaeuser Co. have asked a court for permission to file an amicus brief on behalf of Microsoft Corp., which is hoping to stave off the proposed extension of an antitrust consent decree against it.

In court documents filed earlier this month with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, credit card giant Visa and forest products giant Weyerhaeuser said that extending the life of negotiated consent decrees would discourage future settlements and increase litigation costs.
