Texas Sen. Cornyn Pushes For Public-Private Port Deals

Law360, New York (January 30, 2013, 6:53 PM EST) -- U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, introduced legislation Wednesday to encourage public-private partnerships to boost staffing and improve infrastructure at U.S. ports of entry.

The proposed legislation, S. 178, to be called the Cross Border Trade Enhancement Act of 2013, would make alternative funding in the form of public-private partnerships available to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other federal agencies.
