BlackRock Buys 8% Of Manchester United Common Stock

Law360, New York (January 31, 2013, 4:42 PM EST) -- New York-based mutual fund giant BlackRock Inc. has acquired an 8 percent stake in the public shares of British soccer giant Manchester United PLC, BlackRock said in a securities filing Wednesday.

The global investment management titan said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it had acquired roughly 3.3 million common shares of Manchester United, which has seen its stock rise nearly 20 percent so far in 2013.
