Telecom Co. Sycamore Goes Private In $19M Marlin Equity Sale

Law360, New York (February 1, 2013, 3:43 PM EST) -- Telecommunications firm Sycamore Networks Inc. on Friday went private in a $18.8 million deal with Marlin Equity Partners, closing out a liquidation plan unveiled last fall and ending a public run that saw the company's market value plummet from an all-time high of $14 billion.

Los Angeles-based Marlin Equity cinched the deal with its purchase of the Massachusetts firm's bandwidth management product and service business, which handles optical networking and services fixed-line and mobile networks worldwide.
