Playboy Relaunches Bunny Trademark Suit In Ill.

Law360, Los Angeles (February 1, 2013, 8:29 PM EST) -- Playboy Enterprises International Inc. sued Play Beverages LLC in Illinois federal court Friday for allegedly infringing its famous “bunny” mark after their licensing agreement had expired, a day after a judge tossed an identical suit in California.

The complaint accuses Play Bev and its distributors of trademark infringement, false advertising and violation of the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act by continuing to use the mark and operating certain domain names after its license expired last year, the same allegations Playboy levied against the drink maker in California....
