NJIT Improperly Awarded Telecom Contract, Suit Claims

Law360, New York (February 11, 2013, 9:18 PM EST) -- A spurned contractor has sued the New Jersey Institute of Technology for allegedly violating public bidding laws by awarding a telecommunications contract to a company that wasn't the lowest responsible bidder, failed to meet bid specifications and had a conflict of interest.

Tinton Falls, N.J.-based Business Automation Technologies, which does business as Data Network Solutions, claims winning bidder Broadview Networks Inc. provided foggy pricing information and that its relationship with a consultant in the award process represents an improper conflict.
