WTC Owner Blasts American, United's 9/11 Act Of War Defense

Law360, New York (February 20, 2013, 3:18 PM EST) -- The owner of the World Trade Center asked a New York federal judge Wednesday to toss American Airlines Inc. and United Airlines Inc.'s claim that they aren't liable for damage caused by the 9/11 attacks because it was an “act of war,” arguing that the airlines and their insurers waived their right to this defense at the time of the tragedy.
