Ricoh Settles Patent Suit Over CD, DVD Technologies

Law360, New York (October 6, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japanese office equipment maker Ricoh Co. said Wednesday it has dropped patent infringement lawsuits over CD and DVD technologies against Taiwanese competitors after reaching settlements.

Ricoh filed the suits in May and September 2004 against major disk manufacturer Lite-ON IT Corp and its four affiliates, claiming the defendants infringed on a total of six U.S. patents for CD and DVD technologies.
