Time Warner, Comcast Cleared In VOD Patent Suit

Law360, New York (December 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A court ruled on Monday that three cable companies did not infringe a USA Video Technology Corp. patent related to video-on-demand technology by offering their own VOD services to subscribers.

Judge Ron Clark of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said that the defendants, Time Warner Inc., Charter Communications Inc. and Comcast Corp., were entitled to summary judgment because their technology did not satisfy a crucial limitation of USA Video's patents.
