Union Dispute Over $56M A&P Store Sales Stays Put

Law360, New York (March 6, 2013, 2:20 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday declined to remand to state court a dispute between The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. Inc. and a New York union over the $56 million sale and closure of two Food Emporium supermarkets arising from the company's Chapter 11 restructuring.

In a bench order, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman dismissed A&P’s motion to send the suit back to state court, saying the underlying issue in the case — whether or not the sales violated its collective bargaining agreement...
