New FTC Head Targets Tech Giants, 'Smart' Devices

Law360, Washington (March 8, 2013, 6:02 PM EST) -- Newly appointed Federal Trade Commission Chairman Edith Ramirez said Friday that the agency would continue to pursue tech companies that mishandle consumer data, but also make privacy in emerging technologies — such as Web-connected cars and “smart” refrigerators — a priority during her tenure.
