NYC Planning Commission OKs $2B Cornell Tech Campus

Law360, New York (March 20, 2013, 5:06 PM EDT) -- The New York City Planning Commission on Wednesday approved Cornell University and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology's plan to build a $2 billion science and technology campus on Roosevelt Island.

The decision pushes the huge development forward in the land use process, leaving it one more hurdle — the City Council — before the schools can officially begin building the campus on a 12-acre parcel of the island.
