Delta Financial Workers Claim Illegal Layoffs

Law360 (December 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A purported class of Delta Financial Corp. employees have sued the bankrupt subprime mortgage lender for allegedly not giving appropriate notice when it cut nearly 97% of its workforce.

Three former employees of Delta subsidiaries on Tuesday filed a complaint in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware against Delta Financing for allegedly violating the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, Act. The suit said the company failed to give workers at least 60 days notice prior to its mass staff reductions....
